7 Tools You Should Be Using As A Small Business Owner

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

As a small business owner, there are many helpful apps available to aid with staying organized, tracking tasks and projects, and managing a team (if you have one!).

As I'm sure you've come to find there are SO many useful tools that can be used to support a small business. Honestly, everyday there are new tools created to help small businesses.

Since starting my business I have found that these apps are the ones I use consistently to support my own business each and everyday:

  • Google Suite: Get to know all the google apps. Most clients use google apps in some way or another. It makes it easy to share content and collaborate on projects. Google Meet is a great way to connect with clients and teammates, Google Drive is where I store all of my client files. Google Docs and Sheets are where most of my personal business information is stored.

  • Asana: A project and task management app that helps you track progress and collaborate with team members. Honestly, even before I had a team Asana was super useful to track my progress on my own business goals and the tasks I needed to complete for not only my own business but for my clients.

  • Wix: Website design system. Although I don't believe that every small business needs a website I was looking for an easy platform which I could use for multiple purposes. On Wix I am able to host my website, and my blog, and accept client payments. They also offer tons of add ons, there are email marketing systems, and even ways to create and host online courses.

  • LastPass: A password manager that helps you securely store and manage your website and app logins.

  • Canva: A great app where you can create quality and captivating graphics. There are templates for instagram, facebook, brochures, etc. It's great for clients but also for your own business branding. Canva has a magic write tool that allows you to get your ideas flowing for captions, or blogs!

  • Instagram: Social media app, and honestly a "store front" for many small businesses. Using Instagram has allowed me to find almost all of my clients, market and network.

  • Loomly: Social Media Management Tool - Loomly has been LIFE CHANGING for my business, however if you are not running multiple social media accounts this might not be the tool for you. Loomly allows for the user (you) to connect all social media accounts and post (or schedule) simultaneously. You input your information for the post - photos, videos, copy, hashtags, etc. and then you are prompted to customize each post based on the account you are posting to. It shows you an example of what the post will look like and gives insightful information like when the best time to post is, and how long your copy should be.

Infact I love Loomly so much I have become an affiliate for them. One of the best parts of Loomly is they offer a free trial so you can see if it's right for YOU and your business.

By using these apps, you can stay organized and productive, while also providing the best possible service to your clients.
